Will a tri-band of 850/1800/1900 work with a phone thats 900/1800/1900?

Hi, im trying to buy a pink lg chocolate off ebay, but i cant seem to find out if it will work on fido, they have a triband 850/1800/1900 the phone im looking at is 900/1800/1900. Pleeeease help!

A phone does not use all of the bands simultaneously, if area has any of the freq coverage, the phone will work. The lower freq is different in US and Europe, but higher freqs are the same. So, the phone will work, but not have access to the lower freq, if coverage in your area is only the lower freq …..you will not have any signal. But normally, coverage is overlapped to prevent loss of signals.
